Cosmology
In Islamic cosmology, there are 7 heavens, and 7 flat earths, stacked on top of one another like flapjacks on a plate. These earths rest on the back of a the cosmic whale Nun. The whale is on top of the cosmic Bull Bahamut. (Or sometimes the other way around. Bahamut stands on rock, and under the rock is dust. And I guess after that it’s dust all the way down…
The Whale Nun
Surah 68:1
Nūn , by the pen and what they write
The commentary Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs has this to say about Nun:
(Nun) He says: Allah swears by the Nun, which is the whale that carries the earths on its back while in Water, and beneath which is the Bull and under the Bull is the Rock and under the Rock is the Dust and none knows what is under the Dust save Allah. The name of the whale is Liwash, and it is said its name is Lutiaya’; the name of the bull is Bahamut, and some say its name is Talhut or Liyona. The whale is in a sea called ‘Adwad, and it is like a small bull in a huge sea. The sea is in a hollowed rock whereby there is 4,000 cracks, and from each crack water springs out to the earth.
There are 7 heavens and 7 earths
Surah 65:12
Allah is He Who created seven Firmaments and of the earth a similar number.
Earth is flat
Surah 2:22;15:19;20:53;43:10;50:7;51:48;71:19;78:6-7;79:30;88:20;91:6
Hygiene, health and food
There’s a surprising amount of rules about urinating. If your religion micromanages how you piss, you’re in a cult.
See also Muhammad and hygiene.
Muslims aren’t allowed to urinate standing
… ‘Umar said: “The Messenger of Allah saw me urinating while standing, and he said: ‘O ‘Umar, do not urinate standing up.’ So I never urinated whilst standing after that.”
Muslims aren’t allowed to urinate in water
…The Messenger of Allah forbade urinating into standing water.
So it seems our Muslim brothers can not urinate into a water toilet, especially not standing up.

Muslims aren’t allowed to urinate in holes
The Prophet prohibited to urinate in a hole. Qatadah (a narrator) was asked about the reason for the disapproval of urinating in a hole. He replied: It is said that these (holes) are the habitats of the jinn.
You don’t want to piss of the jinn.
Muslims aren’t allowed to urinate towards the qibla
“The Messenger of Allah forbade facing the Qiblah when urinating. “
Dogs would urinate in the mosque and no one would clean it up
And narrated Hamza bin ‘Abdullah: My father said. “During the lifetime of Allah’s Apostle, the dogs used to urinate, and pass through the mosques (come and go), nevertheless they never used to sprinkle water on it (urine of the dog.)”
People used to urinate in the mosque
It was narrated from Anas that a Bedouin urinated in the Masjid, and some of the people went after him, but the Messenger of Allah said: “Do not restrain him.” When he had finished he called from a bucket (of water) and poured over it.

Don’t come to mosque with garlic breath
Narrated Abdul Aziz: It was said to Anas “What did you hear the Prophet saying about garlic?” Anas replied, “Whoever has eaten (garlic) should not approach our mosque.”
Don’t sleep on your stomach
“The Messenger of Allah found me sleeping in the masjid on my stomach. He nudged me with his foot and said: ‘Why are you sleeping like this? This is a kind of sleep that Allah dislikes,’ or ‘that Allah hates.’”
Wigs are forbidden
A woman came to the Prophet and said: “O Messenger of Allah! I have a daughter who had an attack of small pox and her hair fell off. Now I want to celebrate her marriage. Can I get her a wig?” Thereupon the Prophet said, “Allah has cursed the maker and wearer of a wig.”
Letting that poor girl go to her wedding bald, just because he had a weird thing about wigs and an obsession with micromanaging the minutiae of everyone’s lives.

Fevers cleanses sins
“Do not revile fever, for it cleanses out the sins of the sons of Adam in the same way that a furnace removes the dirt of iron.”
Muslims should dip flies in their drinks
The Prophet said “If a house fly falls in the drink of anyone of you, he should dip it (in the drink) and take it out, for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure for the disease.”
🤮
Eat food from the ground and lick your fingers
The Messenger of Allah said, “Satan appears at every thing done by you; he appears even at one’s dinner. When a morsel of any of you falls, he should pick it up and remove any dirt on it, and then eat it. He should not leave it for Satan, nor should he wipe his hand with the towel until he has licked his fingers, for he does not know in what portion of the food the blessing lies.”

The coccyx does not decay
There is nothing of the human body that does not decay except one bone; that is the little bone at the end of the coccyx of which the human body will be recreated on the Day of Resurrection.
I’m pretty sure it does, eventually.
The earth existed before space
Surah 2:29
He is the One Who created everything in the earth for you. Then He turned towards the heaven, forming it into seven heavens.
The earth is flat
Allah has laid the earth out as a carpet for you,
The sky can fall down
Surah 23:65
He keeps the heavens from falling down on the earth without His permission
Sperm comes from between the backbone and the ribs
Surah 86:6-7
˹They were˺ created from a spurting fluid, stemming from between the backbone and the ribcage.
The sun sets in a muddy spring
Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it setting in a muddy spring, and he found a people at it. We said, “O Thulqarnayn, either you will torment them or you will take to yourself towards them a fair way.”
The sun might rise from the west
the Prophet said, “O Abu Dharr! Do you know where this (sun) goes?” I said, “Allah and His Apostle know best.” He said, “It goes and asks permission to prostrate, and it is allowed, and (one day) it, as if being ordered to return whence it came, then it will rise from the west.”
What determines if a child looks like its mother or father?
If a man has sexual intercourse with his wife and gets discharge first, the child will resemble the father, and if the woman gets discharge first, the child will resemble her.
‘The man’s water is thick and white, and the woman’s water is thin and yellow. Whichever of them comes first, the child will resemble (that parent).’”
The urine of boys and girls are different
…He said, “This is because the urine of the boy is of water and clay, but the urine of the girl is of flesh and blood.”…
Non-Muslims eats in seven intestines, Muslims in one
Apparently belief or disbelief in Islam changes the number of intestines you have.
…a non-Muslim eats in seven intestines whereas a Muslim eats in one intestine.

Gestation
Allah’s Messenger, the truthful and truly-inspired, said, “Each one of you collected in the womb of his mother for forty days, and then turns into a clot for an equal period (of forty days) and turns into a piece of flesh for a similar period (of forty days) and then … the soul is breathed into him.
This description of gestation is entirely unscientific. A fetus does not go through three forty day periods of being
Mosquito wings carry both diseases and cures
The Prophet said “If a house fly falls in the drink of anyone of you, he should dip it (in the drink) and take it out, for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure for the disease.”
The cure for sciatica is sheep’s fat
Anas bin Malik said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: ‘The cure for sciatica is the fat from the tail of a Bedouin sheep (or wild sheep), which should be melted and divided into three parts, one part to be taken each day on an empty stomach.’”
Repeating an incantation 7 times can cure anything except death
“There is no Muslim worshiper who visits one who is ill - other than at the time of death - and he says seven times: ‘I ask Allah the Magnificent, Lord of the Magnificent Throne to cure you’ except when he will be cured.”
7 dates protects against poison
I heard Allah’s Messenger saying, “Whoever takes seven ‘Ajwa dates in the morning will not be effected by magic or poison on that day.”
