The Creed of Ummatu al-Bashir

(The Community of the Bearer of Good News)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.

We bear witness that there is no god but Allah, the One, the Living, the Unchanging— whose word does not contradict itself, and whose revelation is نور (light) and هدى (guidance) for all mankind. And we affirm that Muhammad is a preacher of the Injil of Isa.

1. On Revelation

We affirm that Allah has revealed:

  • The Torah (Tawrah)
  • The Gospel (Injil)
  • And the original message given to Muhammad (ﷺ)

All true revelation is from one source and is therefore in harmony.

We reject the claim that the Tawrah or Injil has been corrupted, for Allah says:

“No one can change the words of Allah.”

2. On the Criterion (al-Mi‘yar)

We hold that:

  • The Tawrah and Injil are preserved and confirmed revelations
  • It serves as a criterion by which later claims must be tested

Thus:

  • What agrees with the Gospel is from Allah
  • What contradicts it is from human alteration

3. On Muhammad (ﷺ)

We affirm that Muhammad (ﷺ) was:

  • A رسول (messenger)
  • A بشير (bearer of good news)
  • A داعي (caller) to the path of Allah

He did not bring a new religion,
but called his people back to the truth already revealed in the Injil of Isa.

We reject all portrayals of him that contradict the اخلاق (moral character) of the righteous:

  • He was not a warlord
  • He did not command oppression or فساد
  • He lived in faithfulness, humility, and truth

4. On ‘Isa (Jesus), Son of Mary (عليه السلام)

We affirm:

  • He is the eternal divine Word of Allah cast down into the womb of Mariam (Mary) and clothed in flesh by her. Sharing fully in the humanity of Mariam yet also sharing fully in the divinity of Allah.
    • Our brothers and sisters regard the Quran as the eternal word of Allah, eternal yet existing in physical form as a book of paper and ink. We affirm that the Word of Allah also came in the form of a man of flesh and blood - Isa.
  • He is the Masih (Messiah)
    • The Masih, according to the revealed Word of Allah, is the One who will save humanity from sin and hell by sacrificing himself, regain his glory, and rule as king forever.
  • He is sign and mercy to all mankind
    • His Injil spread to all the world, including the Arabic tribes through His messenger Muhammad (ﷺ), praise be to Allah!

We uphold the Injil as his true teaching:

  • A call to repentance and trust in Him as Lord and Savior
  • A revelation of divine mercy
    • Isa willingly sacrificed his holy blood to pay our sin debt and redeem us from the fire.
    • Isa defeated death by being resurrected by Allah, thus opening the door to Jannah.
    • Isa ascended to the throne of Allah, there to rule as King for eternity.
  • A light for all nations
    • Allah, the merciful, the benevolent, invites all peoples of the earth to repent and follow his Word - Isa

5. On Corruption After the Messenger

We believe that after the death of Muhammad (ﷺ):

  • Political authority overtook spiritual guidance
  • The revelation was collected, altered, and standardized
  • Narratives were introduced that reshaped his message

We distinguish between:

  • The original revelation (الوحي الأصلي)
  • And what was later introduced by human hands

6. Our Call

We call all people:

  • To the worship of Allah alone
  • To the guidance of the Tawrah and the Injil
  • To the restoration of the original message

We are not innovators.

We are those who return.

Conclusion

Allah is One.
His message is One.
His light is One.

And we are witnesses to it.

Peace be upon those who follow the guidance.
